The primary duties of this position center on supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s cybersecurity program and protecting the company’s information systems, networks, and controlled data. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Manager to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company systems and data while supporting compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements including CMMC and NIST SP 800-171. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, an interest in cybersecurity operations, and the ability to monitor, assess, and improve the organization’s overall security posture across infrastructure, networks, and user systems.
Position Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Specialist will handle a wide variety of situations and support the IT Manager in the following functions:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites; strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
Work Environment
Work performed in a combination of manufacturing and office environment. Noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

Position Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Specialist will handle a wide variety of situations and support the IT Manager in the following functions:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the company’s cybersecurity program in alignment with CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.
- Monitor systems, networks, and endpoints for potential cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, or suspicious activity.
- Support the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other sensitive company data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and security controls.
- Conduct routine security audits, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments.
- Support incident detection, response, and remediation activities.
- Maintain and monitor system logging, event monitoring, and alerting tools.
- Assist with user access management including Active Directory, authentication, and least-privilege access control.
- Help ensure secure configuration and patch management of servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations procedures.
- Assist with documentation of cybersecurity controls, system configurations, and compliance artifacts.
- Support employee cybersecurity awareness training and best practices.
- Work with external cybersecurity partners, auditors, and government compliance requirements when needed.
- Provide recommendations for improving the organization’s cybersecurity posture and resilience.
- B.S. in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- CompTIA Security+ preferred
- Additional certifications beneficial but not required:
- CompTIA CySA+
- CompTIA Network+
- CISSP (Associate level acceptable)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Microsoft Security certifications
- Equivalent experience or demonstrated cybersecurity aptitude may substitute for formal education.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and defensive practices
- Familiarity with CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity frameworks is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise network environments
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, switching, routing, and firewall concepts
- Experience with system monitoring, log analysis, or endpoint security tools preferred
- Knowledge of identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, and least privilege concepts
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot security vulnerabilities or system issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to document procedures and maintain compliance-related records
- Apple OSX and Linux knowledge preferred but not required
