Principle Engineer - IT Security

Develop and implement IT security strategies and protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Quest Diagnostics' information systems.
Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and develop mitigation plans.
Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security controls and technologies.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats, and proactively recommend and implement new security measures to protect the organization's assets.
Conduct security awareness training for employees and promote a culture of security throughout the organization.
Lead incident response efforts and participate in security incident investigations.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with external auditors and regulators to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the IT security team.
Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to ensure the security of systems and data shared with external entities.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT systems.
Communicate and report on security risks, incidents, and mitigation efforts to senior management and other stakeholders.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of new security technologies and tools.
Manage and maintain relationships with security service providers and vendors.
Participate in the development and management of the IT security budget.
Continuously assess and improve the organization's security posture and processes.
Conduct periodic security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Act as a subject matter expert on IT security for the organization.
Act as a liaison between the IT security team and other departments to ensure alignment of security efforts with business goals and objectives.
