Respect My Region Sports Journalism & Digital Media Internship Program

Respect My Region is offering an educational Sports Journalism & Digital Media Internship designed to provide aspiring writers, journalists, content creators, editors, and digital storytellers with hands-on experience in sports media, digital publishing, social media content creation, and multimedia storytelling.

The internship program is expected to run approximately 90–180 days and is intended to provide mentorship, portfolio-building opportunities, publishing experience, and exposure to modern digital media workflows.

Upon successful completion of the internship program, participants may be eligible to receive:

• A professional letter of recommendation from the Respect My Region CEO
• Published portfolio work and editorial credits
• Professional references based on performance and participation
• Consideration for future freelance or independent contractor opportunities with Respect My Region

Educational Activities May Include

• Drafting editorial content for review and feedback

• Learning content adaptation across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X
• Observing or assisting with coverage of sporting events, industry events, and major news stories
• Learning audience development and digital media strategies

Program Structure

Participation is flexible and educational in nature.

Participants typically contribute

• Up to 3 hours per day
• Approximately 5 days per week

Schedules may vary based on availability, educational goals, assignments, and mentorship opportunities.

Compensation & Educational Status

This is an unpaid educational internship intended primarily for the educational benefit of the participant.

There is no expectation of compensation for time spent participating in the internship program, and participation does not create an employer-employee relationship.

The internship is designed to provide industry exposure, portfolio development, mentorship, and practical learning opportunities in digital media and journalism.

Respect My Region reserves the right to modify internship activities, mentorship opportunities, and participation expectations as necessary to support the educational goals of the program.
