Manages: Offshore editing/clipping team (4–5 editors)
Role Summary
Salem Podcast Network, a division of Salem Media, offers an exceptional opportunity for Lead Post-Production Editor. This is the creative engine role. We need an editor who can turn great recordings into content that wins —clean long-form episodes and short-form clips that drive growth. You’ll personally handle key edits and, just as importantly, you’ll lead and level-up an offshore editing team with clear standards, fast feedback loops, and high output.
We’re looking for someone who is both a craftsman and a systems thinker.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Own

• Long-form episode editing standards (pacing, clarity, polish, consistency)
• Short-form clipping strategy and execution (platform-native edits that feel current)
• A repeatable clipping system: selecting moments, writing clip briefs, titles/hooks, subtitles standards
• Managing offshore editors: QA, training, style guides, revisions, delivery deadlines
• Collaboration with Social/Distribution lead to optimize content for organic performance
• Maintaining an organized post pipeline (versioning, storage, exports, delivery formats)
  

Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)

• Clip output becomes consistent, fast, and noticeably higher quality
• Offshore editors produce “publish-ready” work with fewer revision cycles
• You’ve established a clear “what makes a clip win” rubric (hooks, pacing, framing, subtitles)
• Long-form episodes ship reliably on schedule with premium feel
  

Qualifications
Requirements

• 5+ years editing in digital video (podcast/editorial content strongly preferred)
• Strong instincts for storytelling, pacing, and comedic/dramatic timing
• Demonstrated short-form performance sensibility (TikTok/Reels/Shorts/LinkedIn native)
• Experience managing other editors (directly or functionally)
• Proficiency in [Premiere / Resolve / Final Cut] + subtitle workflows
  

Portfolio Required

• 1–2 long-form samples
• 5–10 short-form clips you edited (especially ones you believe performed well)
• A quick note on your editing role (solo vs team, what you owned)
  

Nice to Have

• Motion basics (simple text/graphics)
• Thumbnail/title sensibility
• Experience working with offshore teams or high-volume pipelines
