The Role

Join us for a unique 12-week paid internship that will help shape your career. This is an exciting role for someone to make a direct impact on the company. You will be working closely with our world-class team and business leaders to help SoFi develop, implement, and continuously improve our offerings. As a motion designer/editor intern, you'll get to contribute to real, public-facing creative work for SoFi. Plus, you'll be joining SoFi's in-house Creative Studio where you'll be able to work alongside creatives, project managers, and more in a fast-paced, exciting environment.

**The candidate must be available for the entire internship period:**
- Cohort 1: Monday, June 1st, 2026 to Friday, August 21st, 2026
- Cohort 2: Monday, June 15th, 2026 to Friday, September 4th, 2026
- Assist editors in all aspects of post-production workflow, including ingesting footage, organizing media, color correction, audio mixing, and motion graphics
- Perform basic video editing tasks such as cutting, trimming, and arranging clips to create a cohesive narrative or story
- Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency in visual style, tone, and branding across all assets
- Maintain organized project files and folders, keeping track of all versions and revisions
- Help troubleshoot technical issues related to editing software, hardware, and file formats
- Create storyboard concepts and animatics to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to stakeholders
- Conceptualize and design engaging motion graphics for various projects, including paid social animations, explainer videos, broadcast media, and stadium assets
- Execute design concepts into polished motion graphics using industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects or Cinema4D
- Be a valuable contributor in all stages of creative production: from brainstorming and planning, to executing, designing, editing, taking feedback and communication
- Assist with other design and light VFX-related tasks as needed, such as creating static graphics, chroma-keying, or background cleanup
- Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to improve the overall quality and impact of content
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects
- Enrolled in an accredited US-based university (working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree) with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
- Must be returning to school for at least one quarter or semester after the internship
- Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
- Must be willing to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area and be available to work in the San Francisco office at a hybrid capacity (2-3x a week)
- Current undergraduate or portfolio/design school student with a course of study focused on video production
- Must have a portfolio of advertising, design, or video work
- Ability to concept and execute advertising across digital and traditional media
- If applicable, must have experience using appropriate tools for your craft: Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Substance, Cinema4D a plus, etc.
- Desire to learn about advertising and marketing in the FinTech space
- Highly organized, with a great work ethic and proactive mindset
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Aptitude for learning processes, software, and tools quickly
- Previous internship or real client experience
