The Opportunity: Front-of-House Strategy & Systems Integration
We are looking for a sharp, tech-savvy Account Manager / Marketing Strategist based in South Africa to join our remote team. This is a crucial front-of-house, client-facing role where your charisma and good speaking skills are paramount in representing our agency.
This role is designed for someone who is committed, scrappy, and cares deeply about client success. We are looking for individuals who may currently be working at a B2B tech company as a Digital Marketing Specialist and feel bored or stuck in a similar role, yearning for the opportunity to transition into a Director or full Marketing Strategist position. You'll own the client relationship from end to end: driving marketing strategy, coordinating execution, and ensuring every campaign aligns with measurable business goals.
The core of this job involves systems thinking and an advanced understanding of the MarTech stack. We need someone who can answer: "How do the tools in the market connect? Can you build things?" This includes a big-picture understanding of how outbound emailing tools, LinkedIn tools, and CRMs (like HubSpot) talk, ensuring data flows correctly to provide insightful analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Execution
You will serve as the main contact for assigned clients, ensuring clarity and alignment on business objectives. Your role includes leading quarterly strategy sessions and translating business goals into structured marketing plans. You will define and prioritize deliverables to ensure efficient execution and offer proactive strategic recommendations that improve performance and impact. The role involves frequent communication with C-suite level people on the client side.
Project & Resource Management
You will oversee campaign execution, collaborating with channel specialists to hit key outcomes. This includes managing deliverables, timelines, and approvals to ensure on-time completion. You will also monitor client hours or point usage to maintain transparency and efficiency and continuously improve internal workflows for smoother delivery.
Performance & Optimization
This role requires you to analyze marketing results and identify opportunities for optimization. You will partner with channel leads and Account Directors to maintain quality standards, monitor client satisfaction and engagement, addressing issues early, and identify upsell opportunities that align with client needs. Additionally, you will work with the Growth Manager to maximize client retention.
Ideal Profile
  • Communication is #1: Must possess native-level English proficiency to communicate effectively with US clients and demonstrate strong charisma and speaking skills.
  • Background: A B2B background is a firm requirement. We have a strong preference for candidates who've spent time inside B2B tech companies (e.g., SaaS experience) rather than traditional marketing agencies. Experience with technical products (SaaS as an example) is highly valued.
  • Experience & Tenure: We are looking for candidates who possess good tenure and have experience with technical products. Candidates should have a background equivalent to a Digital Marketing Specialist in B2B marketing or a Marketing Strategist.
  • System Fluency: Must be a systems thinker with the ability to understand and build integrations between different MarTech tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zapier, outbound tools). Our tools change quickly, so adaptability is key.
  • Attitude: Scrappy, highly committed, and motivated by the opportunity for growth and making a measurable impact on client success.
