Join the IT team at The University of Minnesota Morris as a Classroom and Desktop Support Technician – serving as both a key technical support resource and the Help Desk Coordinator. In this role, you will support campus technology by troubleshooting, maintaining, and deploying systems while providing exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of user support services, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain internal documentation.
- Deploy and maintain workstations, network printers, and other computing devices while assisting in group training sessions.
- Support audio-visual systems and classroom technology to ensure effective teaching and learning environments.
- Coordinate and schedule Service Desk student employees, offering technical and customer support training as well as serving as the escalation point.
- Participate in testing, deployment, and process improvements to further enhance technology support across campus.
Required Qualifications
- A BA/BS degree or a combination of education and work experience equaling at least four years.
- Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service.
- Experience working with Google and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, or crawling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting and maintaining Audio-Visual systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, technical ticketing systems (TeamDynamix, Jira), and related methodologies.
- CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in diverse settings.
