Assistant or Associate Professor Position in Chemistry and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Wyoming

The University of Wyoming's School of Computing and Department of Chemistry invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position centered on artificial intelligence and machine learning in chemistry. The University of Wyoming has unique access to approximately ~350M core/hours per year on the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputer, creating a strong environment for computational modeling.

The Chemistry Department, as the partnering academic unit, seeks candidates whose research develops or applies AI/ML methodologies to address challenges such as molecular and materials discovery, prediction of chemical reactions, electronic structure and dynamics, or the interrogation of large experimental and computational datasets.

We particularly encourage applications in materials science, nuclear energy systems, and critical minerals. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of research that connects core chemical principles with data-driven and/or computational strategies and AI/ML, explicitly detailed in both the cover letter and research statement.

The successful candidate will participate in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in chemistry and will be expected to design new courses or instructional modules in areas such as machine learning, data-enabled chemical research, or computational chemistry.
