United Taxi Management — a premier Yellow Cab operator in New York City — is seeking a reliable and creative Social Media Manager to support communication with our network of independent contractor drivers. Your primary goal will be to keep contractors informed, engaged, and connected to the company through relevant, timely content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This is an ongoing role expected to require **10–15 hours per week**.
First Campaign Priority: *Drive the Shifts, Get the Rewards*
Your first major initiative will be to launch and execute a campaign called *Drive the Shifts, Get the Rewards"* — a first-of-its-kind offering in the taxi industry. United Taxi is proud to provide free Life and Disability Insurance to any driver working full time, defined as completing 4 weekly leases per month through United Taxi. The objective of this campaign is to clearly and compellingly promote this value proposition across every environment where Yellow Cab drivers are present — digital platforms, in-person touchpoints, and community channels. The ideal candidate will craft messaging that cuts through the noise, resonates with working drivers, and positions United Taxi as the operator that genuinely invests in its people.

- *Social Media Landscape & Growth Objectives**
United Taxi currently has an established Facebook presence with 1,000 followers. The goal of this role is to build on that foundation by launching and growing a presence on Instagram, Twitter, and potentially LinkedIn, creating a cohesive multi-platform strategy that reaches drivers wherever they are online. Each platform should be approached with content tailored to its audience and format, while maintaining a consistent brand voice across all channels.

- *Responsibilities**
- Launch and lead the *Drive the Shifts, Get the Rewards* campaign across all relevant platforms and driver touchpoints.
- Develop, schedule, and publish weekly posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Create content tailored to the needs and interests of independent contractor drivers (e.g., company updates, policy reminders, safety tips, earning opportunities, benefit highlights, community news, and relevant NYC transportation info).
- Collaborate with company executives during the first 4–6 weeks to understand messaging priorities, branding, and operational context.
- Gradually transition to autonomous content creation and posting after the initial onboarding period.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages when appropriate, and flag issues to the team.
- Optimize posts for visibility, search/discovery, and audience growth across all platforms.
- Maintain a weekly posting calendar and deliver consistent communication.
- Track basic performance insights and report trends or opportunities for improvement.

- *Requirements**
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for small businesses or service-based organizations.
- Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn best practices.
- Ability to create clean, engaging, and on-brand visual and written content.
- Familiarity with SEO and social media optimization strategies.
- Experience launching or growing new social media accounts from the ground up is a strong plus.
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal oversight after onboarding.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of transportation, gig-economy, or contractor-based industries is a plus.
