Artificial Intelligence Instructor

Primary Purpose

To provide instruction in artificial intelligence subjects.

Position Duties

• Teaches a broad range of information technology and artificial intelligence courses, which may include on-campus and off-campus classes offered during the day, evening, weekends, and online.
• Instructs 18–22 contact hours; prepares learning objectives, assignments, assessments, grading standards, and attendance policies in accordance with college and departmental policies; develops and distributes course syllabi; and maintains regularly updated online course content.
• Ensures that the classroom environment (seated, online, or hybrid) is appropriate for diverse learners.
• Maintains availability for all students, both in the classroom and through distance learning, by holding established office hours, offering appointments as needed, and responding to electronic communications in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains accurate records of student attendance and grades in accordance with institutional policies and submits all required reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Remains knowledgeable about the program in order to provide accurate and high-quality academic advising.
• Develops new courses and/or revises course content and outcomes as needed; recommends appropriate textbooks, supplies, software, and equipment.
• Participates in the IST Department’s recruitment and retention efforts.
• Supports the college’s mission, vision, and core values by adhering to all policies, procedures, and faculty guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Strong foundation in mathematics.
• Demonstrated understanding of neural networks, natural language processing, and deep learning.
• Flexibility to adapt to continuous changes in curriculum and industry trends.
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in computer-related topic.
• Minimum of three years of work experience in higher education.
• Programming experience in Python.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience
