SUMMARY

The Principal Analyst – People Analytics is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting HR data, metrics, and statistics to supply actionable information and recommendations to Human Resources and other organizational areas. This role will develop, maintain, and automate comprehensive reports and dashboards, ensuring data integrity and supporting regulatory and organizational reporting needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Use HR data and statistics to identify trends and patterns related to headcount, absence, overtime, turnover, new hires, etc., and convert findings into comprehensive reports and dashboards.
  • Identify HR or business data requirements and document functional and technical specifications to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Evaluate system and reporting requirements; perform essential data mapping on current and historical data through data modeling, structuring, and manipulation within analytics solutions.
  • Assess processes and output to align people analytics strategies with best practices and benchmarks.
  • Audit HCM system to ensure data integrity and accuracy through scheduled reviews to validate and/or reconcile data.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources and HR functional areas, including compensation, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, recruitment, and other employment records.
  • Develop, maintain, and produce dashboards and reports that convert HR data and statistics into actionable insights for HR and business leaders.
  • Automate, standardize, schedule, and publish key reports, dashboards, and analyses to distribute data and insights to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency with Workday Prism, Workday dashboards, Workday report writer, Power BI, and other available data analytics tools.
  • Develop and produce data or reports that meet regulatory filing requirements (e.g., EEO-1 Component 1, California Pay Data Reporting); ensure filings are completed by required deadlines.
  • Provide data and support for other organizational reporting (e.g., 10-K, Sustainability, Census Bureau Survey, Employment Practices Liability).
  • Perform other special projects and assignments as required by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience working with HR data and analytics, including reporting or modeling using advanced Excel skills, PowerPoint, or other analytic solutions.
  • Prior experience with HCMS, preferably Workday HCM, Recruiting, Report Writer, and Prism.
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
  • Independent thinker with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS    

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
