We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Medical Support Technician to become an integral part of our healthcare team. In this role, you will support healthcare professionals in various areas including audiology, optometry, podiatry care, and behavioral health. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous and timely assistance to healthcare providers.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts to ensure all information is up-to-date before each visit.
  • Maintain precise clinical records and medical histories during patient visits using electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of all documentation.
  • Complete same-day end-of-visit reports and submit them to management promptly.
  • Facilitate effective communication with branch office staff to enhance schedules and reporting.
  • Coordinate patient flow during visits, which may include assisting with mobility aids and removing footwear as necessary.
  • Generate and submit daily production reports to management promptly after visits.
  • Accurately post charges to the correct provider without delay.
  • Work efficiently in a medical office environment provided by the facility.
  • Care for and sanitize medical equipment following each visit.
  • Monitor medical supplies inventory and order as needed.
  • Prepare resources to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment as instructed by manufacturers.
  • Ensure service areas are cleaned and maintained post-visit.
  • Exemplify outstanding customer service skills while managing multiple tasks and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of medical terminology.
  • Create a welcoming experience for all patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and staff.
  • Document patient inquiries and responses in the EMR promptly.
  • Travel to assigned medical facilities, as needed, up to 100% of the time.
  • Adhere to all components of the compliance program, including reporting any suspected violations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and PHI guidelines.
  • Adapt positively to change and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must possess reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and valid car insurance.
  • Completion of a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test is required.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to effectively follow directions and respond to the needs of patients and providers.

Physical Demands

This role requires full range of motion and manual dexterity. Expect to stand, walk, push, and stoop regularly. Lifting requirements vary based on specialty areas (less than 50 pounds for Audiology and Vision fields, minimal for Podiatry). Ability to assist in transporting patients in wheelchairs is necessary. Corrected vision and hearing are required. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids may occur.
