Head of Creative

Alloy Health

Opportunity for Impact

We're seeking a visionary Head of Creative and Brand Design to build and lead Alloy's creative function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to define how a fast-growing women's health brand shows up in the world—establishing the visual identity, voice, and creative systems that will scale with us for years to come. You'll be equal parts creative leader and operational architect: driving breakthrough creative work while building the team structure, processes, and workflows needed to deliver high-quality output at speed. This role requires someone who can seamlessly bridge performance marketing and brand storytelling, someone who understands that great creative drives both immediate conversion and long-term brand equity.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically about the brand while also rolling up their sleeves to execute. This role requires someone who is design-minded but operationally savvy—not just a "creative" but a leader who knows how to run a high-output team efficiently and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Brand Stewardship

  • Own and evolve Alloy's brand expression—visual identity, voice, tone, messaging frameworks, value propositions, and brand guidelines
  • Lead creative direction and execution across performance marketing, CRM/lifecycle, website, product launches, and brand storytelling
  • Create scroll-stopping digital content optimized for each platform, combining strong visual storytelling with performance marketing savvy
  • Uphold high creative standards across brand, user acquisition, UX, and lifecycle marketing
  • Execute hands-on design, writing, directing, and production work for critical initiatives, including video, motion, social, digital content, and experiential/IRL events

Team Building & Operations

  • Build and lead Alloy's in-house creative function from scratch—team structure, processes, workflows, and creative roadmaps aligned to OKRs
  • Develop scalable creative systems and templates that enable increased output without sacrificing quality
  • Implement processes for creative briefs, project management, and quality control that balance speed with excellence
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools strategically to increase efficiency while maintaining creative quality

Agency, Contractor & Freelance Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and select agency partners across creative, design, and production specialties
  • Build and manage a network of trusted freelancers, agencies, and production companies with clear briefs and high standards
  • Maintain quality control and brand consistency across all external creative work
  • Strategically balance external resources with in-house capabilities, bringing more work in-house over time

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Partnership

  • Partner closely with Growth, CRM, Product, Data, and Executive teams to translate business objectives into creative strategies
  • Apply creative testing and optimization frameworks using metrics like CAC, conversion rate, ROAS, and lift
  • Provide insights and recommendations on creative performance, testing frameworks, and opportunities to improve effectiveness
  • Use data-informed thinking to align creative strategy with business goals

Required Experience

  • 10+ years in creative leadership with demonstrated progression from execution to strategic leadership
  • In-house creative leadership experience required—must have led creative teams within a brand or company, not solely agency-side
  • Proven track record in both performance/growth creative AND brand creative
  • Experience building creative teams from the ground up—established team structures, processes, and workflows in scaling environments
  • Experience owning or contributing to brand guidelines and shaping/repositioning a brand (visual identity and messaging frameworks)
  • Hands-on experience producing video, motion, social, and digital content through ideation, writing, directing, and/or production
  • CPG, Direct-to-consumer (DTC) or digital-first brand experience, particularly with subscription or lifecycle models
  • Healthcare or wellness industry experience a plus, including understanding of regulatory constraints

Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Business-minded creative leader: Design-minded but operationally savvy—understands how creative drives business outcomes
  • Creative testing and optimization mindset with strong understanding of performance marketing vs. brand/awareness strategies
  • Experience building scalable creative systems and templates
  • Proven ability identifying, onboarding, and directing freelancers, agencies, and production companies
  • Creative roadmap planning aligned to OKRs
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills with cross-functional partners (Product, Growth, Data, Executive leadership)
  • Deep expertise creating digital-first content across social media, email, web, and performance marketing
  • Strong portfolio showcasing both performance-driven and brand creative with measurable business results
  • Equally strong in visual design and copywriting—understands voice, tone, and bringing brands to life through words and assets
  • Background in copywriting, content strategy, or editorial leadership
  • Figma (must-have): Expert proficiency for design, wireframes, prototypes, collaboration
  • Adobe Creative Suite (must-have): Photoshop and Illustrator required; After Effects and Premiere a strong plus
  • Project Management Tools: Experience with Asana, Basecamp, Jira, or equivalent

Preferred

  • UXR tools like UserTesting or Zappi
  • Generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Midjourday, Runway, Gemini)
  • Creative operations platforms (Monday.com, Frame.io, etc.)
  • Experience in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments
  • Established relationships with high-quality creative agencies, production companies, and freelance talent
  • Passion for women's health and wellness

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you're excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply.
