Backend Engineering Intern (Python / Django / Azure)

Alphius | Paid Internship | Remote (US Required)

Alphius is building cloud-native backend systems on Microsoft Azure. We are looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to work directly with our platform team on Django services, APIs, and distributed background processing.

This is not a documentation or QA internship. You will write real production code and work on systems that power live cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and extend Django REST APIs
• Implement background jobs using Celery and Redis
• Improve PostgreSQL queries and optimize database performance
• Assist with deploying services to Azure App Service and Container Apps
• Work with Azure Blob Storage and Azure Service Bus
• Monitor and debug applications using Application Insights
• Participate in code reviews and Agile development cycles

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Strong Python fundamentals
• Experience with Django or Flask (academic or personal projects acceptable)
• Understanding of REST API design
• Familiarity with Git
• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms
• Experience with Docker
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL
• Understanding of authentication concepts (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)

Compensation

Paid internship ($1,200-$2,200 monthly)
