System Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled System Security Officer (SSO) to oversee, implement, and maintain security controls that protect organizational systems and data. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with security policies, monitor system vulnerabilities, and support incident response activities in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and enforce system security policies, standards, and procedures

Conduct regular security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability scans

Monitor systems for security incidents and respond to threats in a timely manner

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC 2)

Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to remediate security risks

Maintain security documentation, reports, and audit evidence

Support incident response, investigations, and recovery efforts

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in system security, information security, or cybersecurity roles

Strong knowledge of access controls, network security, endpoint security, and monitoring tools

Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements

Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Eligibility Requirements (Mandatory)

Must have a valid work permit to work in the United States

Must currently reside in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH)

Experience supporting remote or cloud-based environments
