The Senior Customer Inventory Planning Analyst is responsible for ensuring the right product is delivered to the right customer, at the right time, to support business priorities and an exceptional customer experience. This role manages end-to-end customer inventory planning across domestic and international supply, partnering closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Category teams to optimize inventory availability, improve fill rates, and support strategic growth objectives.
This role requires strong analytical capability, deep attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in maintaining allocation discipline, managing customer prioritization, forecasting needs, and driving stability in inventory flow across North America.Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Allocation
- Serve as the primary owner for customer-level inventory planning across Consumer and/or Commercial product lines.
- Analyze demand trends, customer profiles, and supply constraints to recommend allocation strategies that support revenue and service objectives.
- Maintain the allocation rules, priority tiers, and customer-specific parameters within planning systems.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on order fill issues, aged inventory, and supply imbalances and develop solutions to improve performance.
- Monitor inbound supply (domestic production and international import) and proactively adjust allocations based on production changes, availability, and customer needs.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales to understand customer forecasts, promotions, and business priorities.
- Work with Finance to align inventory decisions with budget commitments, revenue targets, and profitability guidance.
- Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations to ensure execution readiness across warehouses and distribution points.
- Participate in cross-functional reviews including S&OP, supply reviews, and customer business planning.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs for customer inventory health, fill rates, allocation outcomes, and service levels.
- Translate data into actionable insights and business recommendations for leadership and Sales partners.
- Track the lifecycle of inventory, identifying aged, obsolete, or at-risk items and proposing action plans.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance allocation models, system rules, reporting tools, and data quality.
- Support improvement initiatives with IT, Supply Planning, and Commercial teams to streamline workflow and planning accuracy.
- Lead and contribute to SOP documentation, process mapping, and best-practice sharing across the team.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, customer allocation, demand planning, or related analytical roles.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience in the tire, automotive, or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of S&OP processes and customer prioritization frameworks.
- Familiarity with import logistics, production planning, and multi-warehouse distribution strategies.
- Experience managing or influencing customer allocation processes.
