1. About the Role

Mercor is recruiting Film and Video Editors as independent contractors for a research partnership with one of the world's top AI companies.

In this role, you'll leverage your professional experience in film editing, storytelling, and post-production to design and evaluate questions that help train AI systems to understand creative and technical workflows in video production.

This is a flexible, remote opportunity ideal for experienced editors interested in contributing to the next generation of AI and creative technology.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Apply your film and video editing expertise to design realistic, domain-specific evaluation tasks.
• Ensure AI-generated responses reflect authentic editing processes, techniques, and workflows.
• Review and refine prompts and rubrics related to cinematic composition, cutting styles, and narrative flow.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet project goals.

3. Ideal Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-time professional experience as a Film and Video Editor.
• Based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills.
• Deep understanding of film structure, visual storytelling, and editing principles.
• Ability to work independently with precision and creativity.

4. Engagement Details

• Remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule.
• Minimum commitment: 15 hours per week (workload may vary).
• Project expected to continue through end of 2025, with possible extension.
• Requires a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported).

5. Compensation & Contract Terms

• Rate: $60–$100 per hour (depending on experience and location).
• Classification: Independent contractor via Mercor.
• Payments: Weekly through Stripe Connect, based on hours logged.
