Senior Android Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Android solutions that align with Product Strategy while adhering to engineering best practices and design principles.
• Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, UX/UI designers, Quality Engineers, and Product Owners to craft high-quality, engaging customer experiences.
• Actively participate in team agile ceremonies, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality commitments.
• Serve as an advocate for the mobile platform within internal and external tech communities.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies in mobile development, including Kotlin and Swift.
• Contribute to group discussions, providing thoughtful feedback and incorporating team input.
• Mentor junior to mid-level engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Work across disciplines with developers in Android, iOS, APIs, and Web teams.
• Lead the delivery of significant platform components in partnership with Senior Engineers and Architects.
• Share best practices and engage in process improvement across sprint teams.
• Identify technical challenges early and collaborate on innovative solutions.
• Review pull requests for adherence to Kotlin and other programming language standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience (excluding internship experience).
• At least 2 years of experience building Android applications.
• A minimum of 2 years working with Kotlin.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in developing Android applications.
• 3+ years of experience with Kotlin.
• Experience with open-source frameworks (1+ years preferred).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (1+ years preferred).

This position is based in McLean, VA with a salary range of $158,600 - $181,000 for Senior Software Engineer roles. Candidates in other locations will receive salary adjustments reflective of their location. You will also be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses or long-term incentives.
