An exciting opportunity to join an independent, award-winning, well-established and growing asset management firm that currently manages four UCITS funds.
We are seeking a highly motivated Trading Assistant to join the Emerging Market Credit desk. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with the portfolio managers in a collaborative and fast-paced investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure risk and P&L are accurate and trades are captured correctly
- Work with the Operations team to resolve any issues
- Supporting FX management and monitoring of currency exposures
- Cash management (including moving cash into and out of money market funds)
- Run reports on risk exposures, making sure that the fund is compliant with all risk-related limits
- Support credit analysis across sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate issuers in emerging markets. This will include attending both in-person issuer roadshows and ad-hoc research calls.
- Working to improve and automate existing processes (both system and trading related)
Education, Skills and Experience required
- 1-2 years’ experience within asset management, financial services or a related analytical environment
- Degree educated in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar)
- Strong academic background, including a minimum A grade in A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Programming capability (e.g. Python, VBA or similar) desirable
- Strong numerical reasoning, intellectual curiosity and ability to work independently
- Clear communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
