Primary Skills Responsibilities Should Be

" Perform patching and upgrades for AIX, VIOS, and HMC, including firmware updates, to ensure system stability, security, and alignment with the latest standards and hardware requirements.

" Oversee and manage VIOS, including resource allocation to LPARs, shared storage pool management, network configuration, and virtual device management.

" Perform regular system health checks and maintenance of VIOS environments, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime for virtualized workloads.

" Manage LPAR creation, resource allocation, and optimization within AIX/VIOS environments to meet performance and scalability needs.

" Automate routine system administration tasks, including backups, monitoring, and performance tuning, using shell or Python scripts to streamline operations.

" Ensure system security and compliance by applying patches, managing access controls, and monitoring for vulnerabilities in AIX and VIOS environments.

" Handle firmware upgrades on IBM Power Systems, addressing hardware-related issues and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.

" Perform regular BAU activities, including system health monitoring, log analysis, disk space management, and storage allocation to ensure smooth operations.

" Provide daily support and troubleshooting for AIX, VIOS, and HMC systems, resolving tickets and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

" Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as storage and network teams, to ensure smooth integration and operation of AIX systems in the broader infrastructure.

" Maintain up-to-date system documentation, including configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures to support business continuity.

" Respond promptly to critical incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
