Security Associate

• *Security Associate – Reef Wellness (Woonsocket, RI)**

The Security Associate at Reef Wellness is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and professional environment for customers, patients, and staff at our Woonsocket dispensary. This position is the first and last point of contact for visitors, ensuring secure access control, a welcoming atmosphere, and strict adherence to Rhode Island cannabis security regulations and company policies.

• *Key Responsibilities
• Control access to the facility by greeting visitors, verifying IDs, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
• Monitor premises via cameras and regular walkthroughs, promptly reporting and documenting any suspicious activity or security concerns.
• Enforce all security procedures, including visitor sign-in/out, badge or credential use, and incident reporting protocols.
• Support staff with cash escorts, opening and closing procedures, and secure transport of product and cash within the building as directed by management.
• Assist with line management, crowd control, and parking flow to maintain an orderly, safe environment inside and outside the dispensary.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, de-escalate conflicts when possible, and coordinate with management and/or law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain detailed, accurate security logs and incident reports in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Dispensary Manager and leadership team to continually improve security procedures and emergency response plans.
• Uphold Reef Wellness’ standards for professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service while projecting a calm, confident, and respectful presence.
• *Required Qualifications
• Prior experience in security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or a similar role in a retail or high-compliance environment preferred.
• Strong situational awareness, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse customers and staff.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed procedures consistently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform regular patrols, and occasionally lift up to 25–30 lbs.
• Comfortable working with basic technology (cameras, access systems, radio/communications equipment, and simple reporting tools).
• Must be 21+ and able to meet all state background and any required cannabis industry licensing requirements.
• *Schedule and Compensation**
• On-site role at Reef Wellness in Woonsocket, RI.
• Requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays based on business needs.
• Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience; details and any benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
