Job Description

Core Skill Areas

  • Tax Workflow & Problem Understanding: Develop a foundational understanding of tax or accounting workflows, utilizing your strong analytical skills from a data science background. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to learn tax processes, follow tax logic, and identify workflow gaps.
  • Applied AI & Tool Usage: Gain hands-on experience using ChatGPT or similar AI tools to enhance productivity and workflow efficiency. You'll be comfortable utilizing defined procedures in building and testing contexts.
  • Requirements & Documentation: Document user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and process flows based on SME input. Translate partially defined needs into clear delivery artifacts.
  • Build & Configuration Support: Assist in the configuration and refinement of AI-enabled workflows and tools, ensuring they meet established governance, risk, and quality standards.
  • Testing & Quality Discipline: Exhibit strong attention to detail by executing test cases, documenting results, and providing structured feedback to support iterative improvements.
  • Professional Communication: Demonstrate clear written communication skills to draft internal documentation, and test summaries, and support broader communications without leading final approvals or deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements & Workflow Translation: Work alongside tax SMEs and product owners to document workflows, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Maintain organized documentation: Support build, testing, and prioritization activities with well-organized documentation and backlog artifacts.
  • Build & Co-Development Support: Assist in building and optimizing AI-enabled workflows and tools within approved enterprise tech environments. Convert exploratory work into structured, reusable assets.
  • Testing, QA, and Iteration: Conduct user acceptance testing, log defects and enhancement requests, and validate fixes to ensure expected behavior.
  • Documentation & Communications Support: Draft internal documents to aid user guidance, and release notes, and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Stakeholders & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with tax practitioners, product and technology teams, and risk compliance partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Data Science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn tax workflows and engage effectively with tax SMEs.
  • Hands-on experience using ChatGPT or similar AI tools.
  • Strong organizational discipline, attention to detail, and comfort in documented delivery processes.
  • Clear written communication skills for documentation and internal materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to workflow automation or analytics tools.
  • Introductory experience with Python or scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in agile or iterative delivery environments.

The expected wage range for this role is $27.00 - $42.00 per hour, based on various factors including experience and skills.
