Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the EXPERT Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-HOSTING AND COMPUTE CENTER(HC242) .

Duties

Help

  • Supervises civilian personnel, ranging in grade up to GS-15 and military personnel up to 0-6. Also directs a number of professional and technical contractor personnel.
  • Assigns work based on project priorities, work difficulty, and employee ability.
  • Plans, organizes, develops and implement security solutions and performs studies, analyses and evaluations of the information systems, associated information assurance plans, programs, projects, networks, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs strategic planning, programming, and budgeting for cloud programs with the support of an interdisciplinary team of computer technical and security specialists, engineers, and resource managers.
  • Oversees multiple projects executed by subordinate project or team leaders, and provides technical guidance to assure optimal outcomes for services and solutions.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements

Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards

Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs

Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience

Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions

Qualifying Experience

To qualify at the GG-2210-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Advising senior leaders on technical and cybersecurity matters at an enterprise level, architecting and leading the implementation of approved enterprise security solutions for commercial cloud technology at unclassified and

classified levels, advising on the avoidance and remediation of significant network security vulnerabilities, or supervising civilian and military engineering and IT security personnel. This role oversees and enables risk management and external information sharing and coordination between DoD and Intelligence Community.

  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
  • Accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 3 during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
  • This is a covered position and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
