Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in computer technology and applications.
- Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
- Possession of appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record and employer-provided transportation required.
- Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of applicable computer technology and its most effective and efficient utilization.
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, instructional technology requirements.
- Knowledge of standard microcomputer operating systems and the software used in a network environment.
- Knowledge of three or more microcomputer and network operating systems, and proficiency at a standard desktop, mobile, and communications applications and protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Major Duties/Essential Functions
- Provides information technology consulting services and support to school administrators and program managers.
- Develops strategic and operational school/program technology plans to ensure optimal utilization of all technology resources.
- Serves as the primary school/program technology leader.
- Plans, manages, and supports the configuration, deployment, and integration of all school/program technologies.
- Works collaboratively with and as part of the industry-standard IT service desk.
- Responsible for ownership of all incident management for school/program, including incident assignment, escalation, validation of resolution, continual service improvement, and reporting.
- Manages and supports all local network resources, servers, and all associated technologies, including local network configurations.
- Manages and administers school/site Active Directory administration.
- Develops and deploys automation tools via Group Policy Objects and scripting.
- Responsible for training users and implementing enterprise standard best practices for local network resources, data integrity, and security.
- Coordinates hardware maintenance and repair activities and performs required desktop maintenance
- Installs, configures, and supports software, hardware, local and networked technologies, and resources.
- Designs and conducts formal training classes, as required, with special emphasis on the use of the network, desktop and mobile device platforms, personally owned devices, and standard enterprise software applications.
- Manages and directs the activities of student technology teams.
- Creates, prepares, revises, and presents complex documentation in nontechnical terms for users, school administrators/program managers, school business partners, and school community/family groups.
- Assists school-based and central office-based staff with assessment and testing of administrative and/or instructional computer technology software and hardware needs.
- As primary information technology point of contact collaborates with other school-based technology specialists, appropriate central office staff, and technology vendors to ensure smooth integration and use of technology.
- Acts as a liaison for all system enhancements, hardware repair, and network profiles and/or upgrades.
- Manages and accounts for all school/program technology assets.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
