About The Role
The engineering team owns the delivery and stability of our product end to end. Since Finix serves as the complete payment platform for our customers, our engineering team owns our customers' ability to capture revenue. The Software Engineer, Early Career (San Francisco) role centers around becoming a product domain expert in building payments systems, contributing to the implementation of key features in that payments system and continuously ensuring reliable service to our customers. You will have responsibility for collaborating with payments experts on your team to work towards the best solution. Finix is looking for a team member to join our engineering team who brings exceptional energy, attention to detail, interest to grow and an obsession with building excellent, performant and scalable software.

Location: San Francisco, CA
Base Salary Range: $135,000 /yr - $165,000/yr + Equity + Benefits
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. You will
- Deep dive into our customers' needs, and work with product management to define new services
- Own the technical vision, implementation, best practices and infrastructure within your domain
- Develop close relationships with product management and peer engineers
- Become an expert in your payments domain and mentor junior software engineers
- Proactively improve our architecture, frameworks, tooling, automation, and best practices
- Someone who can thrive in fast-paced, lean startup environments
- Energized by solving complex, technical problems
- A natural collaborator who seeks feedback, incorporates new perspectives, and advocates for customer needs
- 0-3 years of professional software engineering experience
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentalsFamiliarity with RESTful APIs and web services
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in Java
- Exposure to cloud platforms
- Exposure to fintech, payments, or financial system
