We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Drug Representative to serve as a vital link between our pharmacy and healthcare providers. This role involves promoting medication products, providing educational support, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, retail pharmacy environments, and possess excellent people skills. Experience in NYC as a drug rep is required, dermatology is highly seeked. The Pharmacy Drug Representative will play a key role in supporting patient care initiatives and fostering professional relationships within healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

Promote pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals in hospitals, LTC facilities, and clinics
Provide detailed product information, including usage guidelines and benefits
Educate medical staff on new medications, updates, and best practices related to drug therapy
Assist with medication intake processes and ensure proper documentation
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, acute care protocols, and pharmacy operations
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to facilitate medication administration and patient care activities
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards during all interactions
Participate in training sessions to stay current on product updates and industry developments

Qualifications

Prior experience working within LTC pharmacy or hospital settings preferred
Critical care experience highly desirable
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
Experience with IV infusion processes and acute care procedures beneficial
Background in pharmacy technician roles or related patient service positions preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate healthcare professionals effectively
Proven ability to build professional relationships within clinical environments
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Valid healthcare-related certifications or licenses are advantageous but not mandatory
