Remote Sr. Unix Systems Engineer

In this role, you will be an essential contributor to the operations and maintenance of key Unix systems, ensuring that the infrastructure supports critical services efficiently. You'll work with a diverse team, engaging in tasks that span monitoring, vulnerability mitigation, and server management across a wide range of platforms. Accountabilities
- Work on a Unix team supporting 600+ Unix/Linux servers
- Assist in growing the Linux presence in AWS
- Participate in 24x7 On-Call rotation and after hours support as required
- Read, modify, write, and debug scripts (shell, perl, python, etc.)
- Install, configure, patch RHEL on several physical and virtual platforms
- Utilize Splunk for Log Review
- Perform daily monitoring of servers and maintenance as needed
- Analyze and develop technical documentation
- Provide direct support to customers and stakeholders, manage support requests
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5 Years Experience supporting RHEL/CentOS Systems
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA6/7/8) Certification
- Intermediate ability with Satellite Server and Ansible Tower
- Proven Experience with Linux Hosting in AWS
- Experience in Vulnerability Mitigation / OS Hardening
- Creation and configuration of file systems (NFS/CIFS)
- Expert proficiency in Logical Volume Management
- Significant Experience with an Enterprise Monitoring/Ticketing System
- Demonstrated analytic problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational aptitude
- Ability to work independently
