Graphic Artist - Communications Specialist
Full-time, Non-exempt
Must live in California
The individual will hold both a Graphic Artist and a Communications Specialist role to further several public outreach initiatives by the Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications (OCPSC), dedicated to promoting education and raising awareness within communities that are most impacted by health and social inequities. This is a full-time remote position (must be in California). . Graphic Artist: Responsible for creating and designing both digital and print marketing and educational materials. Communications Specialist: Responsible for transitioning technical message points to content that is understandable by the average person. They will create communications materials with creative messaging and imagery to reach diverse communities, including those experiencing the greatest health and social inequities, with culturally competent and actionable information. They will be responsible for the development of communications tools based on campaign needs, to include social media messages, flyers, infographic, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
The stated hourly rate represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience
- Four years of experience working in graphic design
- Two years of experience working in communication, marketing and/or public relations
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) with understanding of best practices for digital and print design
- Ability to take complex information and create simplified and creative messaging Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Basic understanding of best practices for digital and print design
- Strong visualization and design skills
- Hard working, detail oriented and results driven
- Strong time-management skills that allows work on multiple projects at the same time
- Multimedia experience a plus with skills like video editing, designing animations, and modifying existing websites
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual is a plus, and experience working with designs in other languages
