Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Photo Editing Manager to lead our talented team of photo editors at Lionbridge. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of visual quality and innovation across all our photographic outputs. As a Photo Editing Manager, you will oversee the editing process, manage workflows, and mentor team members, while collaborating closely with production project managers to meet client requirements.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a team of photo editors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and output quality.
- Develop and implement efficient editing workflows and processes that optimize productivity while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand project requirements and ensure cohesive visual narratives.
- Review and approve final edits, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and project specifications.
- Consulting with the editorial team on client requirements.
- Selecting photographs that complement the text in the way envisaged by the editorial team (documentary style).
- Edit images for basic changes such as crop, sizing, minor color/contrast adjustments.
- Upload images, alt text, and captions to the client content management system.
- 2-5+ years of experience in editorial photo editing, or as an editorial/news/magazine photographer with at least 1 year in a leadership or managerial role.
- Extensive experience using and researching stock image sites such as Adobe Stock, Getty, etc. Expertise in keyword searching and ‘out of the box' thinking regarding sourcing images for abstract concepts is highly desirable.
- Exceptional creative abilities in finding images to go with articles from stock photographic content. This often involves some creative thinking to find a good fit for the topic.
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software Adobe Photoshop.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Adaptable and open to constructive feedback, demonstrating a willingness to evolve and grow within the role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- High degree of comfort working autonomously.
- Provide quality assurance for the images sourced by the rest of the imaging team to meet client quality standards, as needed.
- High degree of comfort using Teams and M365, with a proficiency in Excel.
- The ability to hone your skills in PM across a myriad of different initiatives and areas of business

- Expected Compensation: Between $50,000 and $65,000 USD/year based on experience.
