Job Description
Job Summary:
*This is not a totally remote position- Candidates must live in KS or MO.
The Data Analyst is responsible for sourcing, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting on clinical, operational, and strategic data to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role partners closely with analysts, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to understand business questions, clarify project goals, and deliver accurate, actionable insights through recurring and ad hoc analyses, dashboards, and reports. The Data Analyst owns and maintains assigned reporting, dashboards, and databases, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and usability. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The position emphasizes proactive problem-solving, continuous improvement of reporting processes, and stakeholder education to drive effective use of data in support of organizational objectives.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Source data from internal data warehouses, dashboards, or reporting, oftentimes collaborating with other analysts and SMEs
- Clean, validate, and prepare data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
- Generate, analyze, and interpret common analyses and reports, both recurring and ad hoc
- Own, maintain, and improve assigned reporting, dashboards, and databases
- Document data definitions, assumptions, methodologies, reporting processes, and user-friendly reference guides
- Support strategic decision-making by:
- Participating in cross-functional teams, asking clarifying questions, and gathering sufficient context to fully understand stakeholder goals before developing final deliverables
- Educating internal stakeholders on the use and interpretation of reports and dashboards, including explanations of data definitions, methodology, and unexpected findings.
Job Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, STEM, Business, or related field
- 3+ years in analytical role
- Advanced Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience visualizing data for stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to tailor messaging to audience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, timely decisions and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and evolving priorities
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- 5+ years in analytical role supporting non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in healthcare industry and Oracle Cerner EMR environment
- Experience building in Spotfire
- Basic SQL
