Job Title: Application Developer IV (Cryptography Engineer)

Duration: Contract (04/27/2026 – 10/26/2026)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cryptography Engineer to join the Cybersecurity team at BNY. This role focuses on implementing and supporting enterprise-wide cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions, while contributing to next-generation initiatives such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in cryptographic systems, key management, and security compliance within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and support cryptography and PKI solutions across the enterprise.

Build, integrate, and maintain a Cryptographic Asset Management Platform to support Post-Quantum Cryptography initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cryptography and certificate use cases.

Integrate digital certificates with Certificate Lifecycle Management platforms.

Develop architecture documentation, system build guides, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Respond to requests from internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.

CISSP certification required.

5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting cryptographic solutions.

Hands-on experience with

Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)

Key Management Systems (KMS)

Certificate Lifecycle Management platforms

Automation of certificate and key management services

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms and key management practices.

Knowledge of secure communication protocols and digital certificates.

Exposure to Quantum Computing and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (GDPR, DORA, NIST, ISO 27001).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Additional Information

Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments is a plus.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams and handle audit/regulatory interactions effectively.
