Job Purpose
Are you a creative digital storyteller with a passion for building trust and engagement?
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Merseyside is seeking a talented Digital Communications & Marketing Officer to develop and deliver high-quality campaigns that strengthen our brand and connect with communities across Merseyside.
About The Role
You will lead on creating and managing innovative digital content and marketing strategies that raise awareness of the PCCs work and build confidence in policing. From social media and websites to video production and targeted campaigns, youll use your expertise to deliver impactful communications that make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver creative digital campaigns and marketing activities.
  • Manage and maintain website content, ensuring SEO best practices.
  • Build and grow a positive social media presence, monitoring engagement and interactions.
  • Design, film, and edit engaging video and photography content.
  • Create compelling copy for digital platforms and campaigns.
  • Analyse performance using web and social media analytics to inform strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including GDPR, copyright, and media law.
About You
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in digital communications or marketing.
  • Minimum 12 months experience in an agency or in-house professional environment.
  • Skilled in CMS platforms (e.g., Umbraco, WordPress) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, SEO, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Politically restricted post.
