Video Editor + Motion Graphics Designer

Pod People is looking for an experienced Video Editor & Motion Graphics Designer to support our Creative Production team with the post-production of high-impact video assets. If you love creating visual stories that bridge everything from long-form narrative to snappy social content, we want you on our team. 


In this role, you'll work closely with our Head of Video and post-production team to execute professional-grade edits and custom motion designs for a diverse roster of clients, from the globe's largest entertainment brands to Fortune 500 companies. In a typical week you'll be managing simultaneous projects, from 60 minute longform episodes to designing intricate motion graphic packages for dynamic social shorts.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Edit and assemble long- and short-form video content, incorporating music, sound effects, visual effects, b-roll, still graphics, captions and more.
  • Creatively oversee and design on-brand 2D motion graphics (lower thirds, transitions, etc.) to enhance video projects.
  • Sync raw footage and improve color/lighting issues.
  • Follow story edits and develop compelling narratives specific to each client/episode/clip.
  • Optimize edits for various media platforms by following platform specs and requirements, including aspect ratios, runtimes, specs, and compression needs. 
  • Contribute to external/internal video workflows and provide feedback and mentorship to external contractors to maintain high video standards across all projects.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to properly manage, share, store, and archive video assets.
  • Research the latest trends, equipment, software, AI, and other tools and provide ongoing recommendations for improving our video production & post-production workflows.
  • Troubleshoot technical and delivery issues. 
  • Engage with clients as necessary to confirm or clarify design perspectives.
  • Attend team meetings, creative development sessions, and support internal special projects, as needed.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • 4-6 years of professional experience in video editing with a strong portfolio showcasing both long-form storytelling and high-energy short-form content.
  • Advanced expertise in crafting motion graphics, including keyframing, typography animation, and visual effects.
  • Experience leading creative projects at an advertising agency, production company, in-house marketing department, consulting firm, or similar environment.
  • US based, in either PT or MT time zones

Compensation and Benefits


This is a remote, full-time role with a salary in the range of $70,000-$90,000 annually. Pod People covers 70% of premiums on healthcare, generous PTO, and at least one 3-day weekend each month.
