About the Position

We are in search of a self-motivated Installation Technician / Security Advisor to add to our dedicated team. As an Installation Technician / Security Advisor, you will be at the frontline of delivering top-notch service to our clients. Your responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential alarm and automation systems. Your ultimate objective will be to ensure that all security systems function optimally and continue to safeguard our clients' homes.

You will be in charge of the following

  • Implementing the installation of security devices such as control panels, sensors, cameras and the likes.
  • Conducting consultative sales conversations with clients to grasp their needs and suggest suitable security enhancements.
  • Resolving technical complications related to the customer's security equipment, identifying issues, and providing lasting solutions.
  • Carrying out comprehensive testing of installed security mechanisms to verify that all parts are operating accordingly and performing necessary adjustments or repairs when necessary.
  • Guiding clients on how to operate their security equipment to ensure they feel confident handling them.
  • Completing all requisite paperwork, such as installation summaries, service requests, and inventory records, making sure all documents are accurate and current.
  • Continually improving your knowledge on the latest security technologies, standards, and practices in the dynamic security industry.

To excel in this role, you need to have

  • Basic tools necessary to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems, including control panels, sensors, cameras and related equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills to professionally engage with customers, provide clear instructions, and address all queries or issues.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve technical complications swiftly, applying problem-solving skills to identify issues and providing effective solutions.

We require that

  • Candidates have auto insurance coverage that aligns with the company's standards.
  • Candidates are able to acquire or already have an alarm agent permit following the Federal, State, and Municipal laws.
  • Candidates possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record that meets the company's standards.
  • Candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

The role entails certain physical demands which are necessary for ensuring personal safety and the integrity of the installations. Hence, during the hiring process, candidates will be assessed for:

  • Endurance for prolonged standing, climbing on ladders, and moving within tight spaces.
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools, and handle small components meticulously.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and position heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), sometimes overhead or in uncomfortable positions.
  • Sharp vision for detailed tasks.
  • Capacity for regular bending, crouching, reaching, and maintaining balance while working at elevated heights or on ladders.
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors, tolerating variable weather conditions and temperature changes.
  • Ability to comfortably drive personal vehicle for extended periods.
