Software Engineer - New Grad

At Sentra we embarked on an exciting journey to build a one-of-a-kind company memory to help growing startups overcome scaling challenges. At Sentra, we've developed a true AI teammate that understands an organization's context, goals, and culture - offering both ICs and leaders unprecedented transparency into what's happening across the company and strategic alignment.

Sentra is backed by a16z and Together Fund, working with leaders from the top tech companies in the valley. Our goal? To never let a company lose itself as it gets bigger.

What you'll do

  • Build and ship production features across the stack: frontend, backend, or both, depending on your interests and strengths
  • Design and implement scalable systems that power core product experiences
  • Iterate and ship code with AI coding tools (cursor, claude code, etc)
  • Design and ship beautiful, high-performance user experiences for Sentra's desktop and web app
  • Own features end-to-end: from scoping → implementation → iteration and improvement
  • Operate in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with real ownership and outsized impact
  • Learn quickly, take initiative, and grow alongside the product and company

What we're looking for

  • Recent graduate or early-career engineer with strong fundamentals in computer science and software engineering
  • Interest in frontend, backend, or full-stack development (we're open to all three)
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and move fast in an ambiguous, early-stage environment (we are a startup)

Backend / Full-Stack:

  • Experience with Python and building APIs
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Interest in scalable systems and platform engineering
  • Bonus: exposure to LLMs, agentic frameworks, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

Frontend / Full-Stack:

  • Experience building modern web UIs with React and TypeScript
  • Familiarity with component-based architecture, state management, and performance best practices
  • Strong product and visual sensibility (layout, spacing, typography, interaction states)
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling (e.g., Vite, Tailwind, testing frameworks)
  • Interest in simplifying complex workflows and data into interfaces that feel intuitive

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Free meals on in-office days
  • UberEats credits
  • Health insurance coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Equinox and other fitness/wellness memberships
  • Transportation stipend
  • Flexible time off

Compensation: 120k to 250k + 0.3 to 0.6%
