Job Summary:
The Color Photoshop Retoucher for Pre-Press is a senior-level role responsible for the meticulous color correction, retouching, and manipulation of digital images to meet exact print specifications and quality standards. This role serves as the final quality control checkpoint for all visual assets before they are sent to press, requiring expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and a deep understanding of color theory and print production processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, photography, and production teams to ensure brand consistency and flawless execution of print materials.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Color Correction: Perform expert-level color analysis and correction of images to achieve accurate color reproduction and visual consistency across various printing processes (e.g., offset, digital, flexographic), utilizing color profiles (CMYK, RGB, spot colors) to ensure successful color reproduction in print.
- Image Retouching & Manipulation: Execute complex image enhancements, including removing imperfections, adjusting lighting and composition, masking, compositing multiple images, and other advanced manipulation techniques using Adobe Photoshop.
- Pre-flighting & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough "preflight" checks on all files to verify completeness and adherence to technical requirements, identifying and resolving issues related to image quality, resolution, and format.
- Proofing & Approval: Generate accurate proofs for internal review and client approval, and review vendor proofs, providing timely feedback to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Workflow & Collaboration: Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines, collaborating effectively with art directors, photographers, designers, and print operators to achieve desired outcomes.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Serve as a subject matter expert, staying informed on industry best practices, new technologies, and software updates.
- Ensure all images meet color accuracy and consistency requirements and maintain quality control procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in high-volume commercial imaging, retouching, and prepress operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Master-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop, and familiarity with other relevant software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and preflighting tools..
- Color Knowledge: Deep understanding of color theory, color management workflows, and an exceptional eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
- Print Process Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of various printing processes (offset, digital, etc.) and how digital files are translated into printed materials.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues related to files, color, and equipment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Education: A postsecondary certificate or associate's degree in graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field is often preferred.

This is a remote position in the US. We are open to candidates in various states, with the exception of those residing in the following: AK, DC, ME, NH, NM, OK, HI, MS, MT, NV, NE, ND, SD, VT, WY, WV
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $28 - $30 USD hourly. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
