Position: IT Desktop Support Engineer L2
Address: New York, NY, United States
Duration: Short-term contract (2 weeks) 5 weekdays (After business hours) + 4 weekend days
Tentative Start Date: 1st Week of December 2025
Shift: Weekday (After office hours) / Weekend (usual 8 hours)
Job Purpose
We are seeking experienced IT Desktop Support Engineer L2 to support a large-scale desk and monitor installation project. The engineers will be responsible for the physical setup, removal, and configuration of end-user desk equipment, ensuring seamless deployment with minimal disruption to business operations.
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Install and configure dual monitor setups (2 monitors per desk) for approximately 300+ desks.
  • Set up one docking monitor with built-in webcam on the left and connect a secondary monitor on the right.
  • Remove existing docks and ensure proper cable management.
  • For desks with wireless keyboards/mice, relocate wireless adaptors into the new docking monitors to maintain functionality.
  • Relocate and set up equipment from 23 desks to another floor (specific floor to be confirmed).
  • Perform all installation and setup outside of office hours (evenings and weekends).
  • Verify all devices are connected, powered, and functioning correctly post-installation.
  • Maintain detailed records of completed installations and equipment moved.
  • Follow company procedures for asset tagging and inventory updates.
  • Ensure work is completed within project timelines and quality standards.
Required Skills And Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in IT desktop support, hardware installation, or deployment projects.
  • Strong understanding of desktop, monitor, and docking station configurations.
  • Familiar with Windows OS and general end-user computing environments.
  • Experience performing IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities.
  • Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and cable management best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight timelines.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a coordinated team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Must be available for after-hours and weekend shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting large corporate office moves or mass hardware deployment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other IT ticketing/asset management systems.
  • Basic understanding of network connectivity and peripheral device setup.
