About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Video Editor to join our dynamic team in San Mateo, CA, operating in a hybrid work environment. In this role, you will be entrusted with leading high-priority projects, including global marketing campaigns, franchise launches, and other critical creative initiatives that shape the PlayStation brand. Your expertise in storytelling, technical editing skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines will be essential to produce compelling visual content that resonates with diverse audiences. You will collaborate closely with creative teams, including producers, motion designers, game capture specialists, and marketing professionals, to ensure all deliverables meet PlayStation's high standards of quality and innovation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and a passion for storytelling, contributing to the continued success and creative excellence of PlayStation's visual content.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in video editing or post-production, preferably within AAA game or entertainment campaigns.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple critical projects with minimal oversight.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including version control, file management, and collaborative review processes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across creative and technical teams.
- Demonstrated reliability and composure under pressure, with a track record of delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial process for multiple high-stakes projects, ensuring polished, emotionally engaging storytelling that aligns with brand standards.
- Collaborate with Producers, Creative Leads, Motion Designers, and Marketing teams to develop and maintain consistent storytelling across all deliverables.
- Shape narrative structure and tone, whether working from detailed briefs or minimal creative guidance, maintaining creative composure under pressure.
- Apply strong storytelling instincts to create edits that reflect the PlayStation voice and effectively engage diverse audiences worldwide.
- Integrate motion graphics, sound design, and color grading to uphold PlayStation's visual and auditory standards of excellence.
- Follow established post-production workflows while also championing workflow innovations, including AI-assisted editing and automation tools.
- Maintain organized timelines and scalable edit structures to facilitate quick revisions, localization, and future updates.
- Anticipate project risks and proactively resolve challenges, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
