At Tessa International School, we offer three language tracks: Spanish, French, and Mandarin, and are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and the French Ministry of Education. We are also recognized as a NAIS model school.

We are looking for a caring Assistant Teacher for one of our classes in either the Spanish, French, or Mandarin track for the 2025-2026 School Year.

Key Responsibilities

Actively assists the lead teacher with classroom and behavior management
Provides pastoral care and support for students' emotional, social, and academic development.
Maintains a clean, tidy, and presentable classroom and school environment.
Assists the lead teacher with various tasks as needed.
Depending on the class, this role may include performing diaper changes, feeding, and soothing very young children.
Participates in meetings and professional training sessions, and supports leadership with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent command of English and their assigned target language
At least three years of working experience in a school environment
A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a similar field is preferred
Experience with the IB PYP framework is preferable but not required
Prior experience at an international school or cultural fluency derived from international experience is a plus
Strong communication skills, a sense of humor, humility, and empathy
Must be a team player with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion

Schedule

8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Part-time positions and the opportunity to work extra hours may be available

Salary

$35,000 + 1,000 bonus
