Position Overview
Thunder Funding is looking for a Part-time Help Desk Support Technician to join our IT team. This role serves as the first point of contact for all IT support requests, ensuring team members receive timely and effective solutions to hardware, software, and general technology issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, service-focused environment. This position plays a key role in keeping our technology running smoothly and supporting a productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (24 hours per week)
Additional Information
This role requires working on-site at our Carlsbad, CA office three days per week.
PAY RANGE
$23 to $25 per hour.
Please note that the pay range base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies. Thunder Funding is looking for a Part-time Help Desk Support Technician to join our IT team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support by resolving incoming IT tickets and escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Follow up on service desk tickets to ensure timely and complete resolution.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand issues, set expectations, and deliver a positive support experience.
- Manage IT assets and inventory, including the procurement, imaging, deployment, and retirement of laptops in line with vendor agreements and refresh cycles.
- Support end-user hardware and software across both macOS and Windows environments.
- Administer and maintain device management, identity, and patching systems to ensure security and compliance.
- Document resolutions and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to expand the internal knowledge base.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware purchases, software licensing, and warranty services.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security initiatives aligned with data protection and access control best practices.
- Education:
- Associate's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience (2+ years in IT support).
- CompTIA A+ certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of professional help desk or IT support experience.
- Hands-on experience with Hexnode or comparable device and identity management platforms (e.g., Intune, Jamf, Okta).
- Familiarity with NinjaOne or similar RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Atera, Synchro).
- Working knowledge of the Google Admin Console for user and device management.
- Some experience with vendor management and basic IT procurement processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Understanding of core security principles, including MFA, patching, and endpoint protection.
- Skilled in creating clear documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to remain professional and composed under pressure.
