Join UMB's dynamic Corporate Information Security and Privacy (CISP) team, dedicated to identifying threats and protecting our people, information, and services. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with UMB's data governance, enterprise technology, and information security teams to champion our data protection initiatives and ensure they are well understood throughout the organization.

As a Senior Information Security Risk Specialist, you will engage in UMB's information and data governance programs, helping the organization tackle rapidly evolving threats and business conditions. This hybrid position requires on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays, and may be based at any UMB location.

Your Contributions Will Include

  • Participating in UMB's information and data governance initiatives.
  • Supporting the implementation of a multi-year roadmap to enhance our data governance capabilities.
  • Monitoring and evaluating security practices to ensure compliance with data protection policies and standards across the organization.
  • Maintaining UMB's policies and standards related to information governance and data protection.
  • Generating metrics and analytical reports on data security controls to assess their effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with teams across the organization to develop processes that protect sensitive and proprietary data.
  • Advising Information Technology teams on configuring data security settings, policies, and controls within systems, applications, and data stores.
  • Conducting periodic risk and maturity assessments to evaluate existing controls for design and performance effectiveness.
  • Developing and implementing retention, disposition, and data minimization strategies within the organization.
  • Leading special projects and performing additional duties as assigned.

You Are the Ideal Candidate If

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field, or have equivalent work experience.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, particularly in information and data governance.
  • You have strong knowledge of risk and controls, including familiarity with standards such as COSO, COBIT, ISO, NIST, and ITIL.
  • You can thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • You understand and have practical experience with information security risk assessments and audits.

Bonus Points For

  • Holding Information Governance Professional (IGP) and/or Certified Information Professional (CIP) certifications.
  • Experience with the Informatica data management platform.
  • Possessing industry-recognized certifications in information security, such as CISSP, CRISC, SEC+, or CISM.
  • Strong understanding of information security regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • General knowledge of banking and financial services processes and the associated risks in managing data securely.

Compensation Range

$69,230.00 - $149,000.00

The compensation range provided represents UMB's standard for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience level, and other relevant factors. This range does not reflect the full earning potential for this position; see the benefits description included for further information.
