[Remote] Boomi EDI Technical Architect/ Lead

United Techno is a Global IT Services firm specializing in niche services including Cloud Integration, Digital Transformation, Modernization and Data intelligence for Retail, Life Sciences and Supply chain customers. They are seeking a Boomi EDI Technical Architect / Lead responsible for architecting, implementing, and governing scalable EDI solutions while leading EDI delivery teams and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement end-to-end EDI integrations using Boomi AtomSphere
• Own EDI solution design including process flows, data mapping, transformation logic, error handling, and reprocessing strategies
• Lead hands-on development of Boomi EDI maps , profiles, processes, and connector configurations
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with Boomi integration best practices
• Oversee day-to-day EDI operations including transaction monitoring, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution
• Ensure high availability and reliability of EDI flows across AS2, SFTP, VANs, and APIs
• Implement robust exception handling, alerting, logging, and SLA monitoring
• Ensure compliance with EDI standards, partner requirements, and industry regulations
• Lead trading partner onboarding , connectivity setup, and certification
• Resolve partner-specific EDI mapping, protocol, and communication issues
• Act as the escalation point for complex partner and production issues
• Partner with Project Managers to define technical scope, architecture, estimates, and delivery plans
• Guide teams through requirements analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
• Ensure delivery milestones are met while maintaining high quality standards
• Lead and mentor a team of EDI engineers and developers
• Provide technical direction, code/design reviews, and performance feedback
• Drive knowledge sharing, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Stay current with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) , protocols, and Boomi platform enhancements
• Establish and enforce EDI and Boomi integration standards, patterns, and best practices
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Ensure high-quality documentation including EDI specifications, mapping documents, Boomi process designs, and operational runbooks
• Develop and deliver training sessions for internal teams on Boomi EDI architecture, development, and support processes

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of overall EDI experience, with 5+ years in a technical leadership or architect role
• Strong hands-on experience with Boomi AtomSphere, including: EDI profiles and maps, Process orchestration, Connector configurations, Error handling and reprocessing
• Deep knowledge of EDI standards and protocols: X12, EDIFACT, AS2, SFTP, VANs
• Strong understanding of data mapping, translation, and transformation concepts
• Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical EDI integrations
• Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex EDI projects
• Boomi certifications (Professional, Associate, or Architect)
• Experience with API-led integration alongside EDI
• Familiarity with ERP, WMS, TMS, or eCommerce platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Shopify)
• Experience building reusable EDI frameworks or accelerators
• Advanced project delivery or Agile/Scrum experience
