Overview

As a Military Law Enforcement Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding personnel, installations, and strategic assets for the Navy. Your responsibilities will include maintaining core security, antiterrorism measures, and law enforcement both domestically and during international deployments. You will be trained to conduct physical security and policing operations, specializing in areas such as military working dogs, harbor security, corrections, investigations, and protective services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct antiterrorism and force protection patrols on installations and piers.
  • Stand sentry and access control posts, regulating entry to secure areas.
  • Perform vehicle, personnel, and baggage inspections to detect weapons, contraband, or unauthorized items.
  • Enforce traffic and parking regulations while responding to service calls and investigating incidents.
  • Collect and preserve evidence and prepare detailed reports and case files.
  • Provide law enforcement presence and manage crowd control during special events and emergencies.
  • Operate and maintain small arms, crew-served weapons, non-lethal weapons, and security vehicles or boats.
  • Support harbor and waterfront security, high-value unit escorts, and expeditionary missions.
  • Supervise and train junior personnel in watchstanding, weapons handling, and security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Passing scores on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and eligibility for security clearance when required.
