The Senior Analyst, External Manufacturing Data, AI Enablement & Solutions is part of a team of innovators responsible for the development, implementation, and management of data flow, artificial intelligence and automation technologies that accelerate manufacturing execution, including oversight, decision control and process optimization. These activities enable the rapid expansion of commercial supply of all Vertex medicines across all modalities, from small molecules through to cell and gene therapy medicines. The Senior Analyst partners with team members across global commercial manufacturing teams spanning plants to operations to oversight to enhance digital capabilities, drive automation, and improve operational efficiency and deliver high value, high speed impact. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems that enable external manufacturing of all Vertex medicines. Enable the integration of operational, engineering and scientific data through to insight. Have mastery of the marketplace of commercial products with innovation to where creative solutions can drive Vertex’s needs forward. Collaborate globally to accelerate operational efficiency in CMC and manufacturing planning, forecasting and execution processes internally and externally. Monitor and implement fast moving AI technologies and regulatory trends to design and build system capabilities and maintain compliance with evolving global standards. Willingness to travel up to 10% to support business objectives. Execute timely technology/AI/data activity to the required quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and ensure successful delivery to value. Knowledge and Skills: Experience in successfully designing and implementing data and technology solutions in commercial manufacturing environments and across a manufacturing network. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences. A strong commitment to compliance and integrity in systems, processes, and actions, with a deep understanding of the biotech environment. Proficiency in rapidly adopting and implementing emerging technology (e.g. agentic). Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools and strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technology. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain or logistics discipline, computer science, IT or relevant equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in technology, ideally within manufacturing and CMC domains. Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and initiatives that require collaboration across multiple functional areas. Proven track record of implementing and optimizing digital manufacturing systems and data flows. Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including GMP. Experience with the manufacturing processes of small molecule, cell therapy, gene therapy and other modalities. Experience with enabling advanced technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and delivery of data engineering strategies is highly desirable. Advanced certifications in product, agile, software engineering, cloud technologies, or leadership preferred. Pay Range: $104,000 - $156,000 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
