Our client, a cutting-edge firm in AI & Emerging Technologies, is seeking a visionary Principal AI Research Scientist to join their esteemed research team in San Antonio, Texas, US . This pivotal role focuses on advancing the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence, with a specialization in generative models, deep learning, and their applications. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, or a related quantitative field, coupled with a distinguished publication record and a proven ability to lead complex research initiatives. You will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing novel AI algorithms and systems that push the boundaries of what's possible. This hybrid position allows for collaborative innovation within our state-of-the-art facilities and the flexibility to conduct independent research.

Key Responsibilities: Lead pioneering research in areas such as large language models (LLMs), diffusion models, GANs, and other generative AI techniques. Develop novel AI algorithms and architectures for complex problem-solving. Design and conduct experiments to validate research hypotheses and measure performance. Publish research findings in top-tier AI conferences and journals. Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research prototypes into production-ready systems. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the team's intellectual growth. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning. Identify new research opportunities and develop strategic research roadmaps. Present research findings to internal stakeholders and external audiences. Contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio through patents and publications. Evaluate and utilize cutting-edge AI frameworks and tools. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience in AI/ML, with a strong focus on generative models. A distinguished publication record in top AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ACL). Demonstrated expertise in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong theoretical understanding and practical experience with various generative model architectures. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python. Proven ability to lead independent research projects and guide research teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex technical information. Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing is a plus. Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a hybrid research environment.
