Position Summary: The IT Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions that protect the organization’s infrastructure, systems, and data. This role focuses on hands-on security engineering, cloud security—particularly within Microsoft Azure—and proactive threat mitigation. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a security-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate across IT and business teams to ensure a secure technology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls and architecture across on‑premises and cloud environments
- Lead security efforts within Microsoft Azure, including identity, access management, network security, and monitoring
- Implement and manage security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability management platforms
- Identify, assess, and remediate security risks and system vulnerabilities
- Support incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and remediation
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure secure system configurations and deployments
- Develop, document, and maintain security standards, procedures, and technical controls
- Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives
- Stay current on emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, information security, or a related role
- Hands-on experience securing and managing Microsoft Azure environments, including experience of Defender, Purview and InTune
- Experience of administering and using third-party security tools, e.g., Arctic Wolf, CrowdStrike, Darktrace or similar
- Strong understanding of network security, cloud security architecture, and identity and access management
- Experience with security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management tools
- Ability to troubleshoot complex security issues and drive solutions independently
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
